About the role

MercyCare is seeking an experienced Case Worker to join our Fostering Services team in West Perth on a full-time basis of 76 hours per fortnight. This position is contracted to January 2019 and subject to ongoing funding.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing case management services to children in placement with MercyCare’s Fostering Services. This includes provision of support and advocacy to children and young people in out of home care and ensuring Foster Carers continue to meet the criteria for their role.

Minimum requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant Human Services
  • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of case work practice within the community sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues related to children and young people who have experienced trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties
  • Ability to work under pressure within a busy environment and meet case management reporting and recording requirements
  • Availability to participate in Afterhours/On Call Roster
  • Current Working With Children Card
  • Current and Valid Driver’s License
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
