The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Measurement Scientist – Advanced (Cardiac) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 9000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region
You will take responsibility for
- Providing high level knowledge and leadership in performing complex Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures. Included is the ability to competently assist and guide complex arrhythmia analysis and ablative therapy
- Providing high level knowledge and leadership in the Cardiac Cath Lab performing measurements of permanent pacemakers during implant. Included is the ability to competently assist and guide the implanting physician as to the appropriateness of lead position based on interpretation and judgement of the measurements obtained
- Providing high level knowledge and leadership in the Cath Lab performing hemodynamic monitoring and analysis for Coronary Angiography, Angioplasty, Right Heart Studies and Atrial Septal Defect /Patent Foramen Ovale closures
- Complex reporting of various procedures and tests to communicate results to referring physicians and to be used as a permanent record in the patients hospital file
Requirements for the role
- It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B
- Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree qualification in science in a relevant discipline with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology focussing on cardiac from a recognised tertiary institution
- Participation in after hours “Emergency Clinical On Call” services as required

Salary information
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $117 908 - $123 029 per annum
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
About Clinical Measurements Cardiac Unit
The Clinical Measurements Cardiac Unit offers a wide range of cardiac diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise stress echocardiography, dobutamine stress echocardiography, pacemaker/ implanted cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) interrogation and programming, cardiac electrophysiology studies, cardiac catheterisation monitoring, exercise stress testing, electrocardiograms, tilt tables testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, holter and event monitoring.
