What’s on Offer:

As a casual Farm Assistant with the Department of Primary Industries, you’ll be:

  • Working across 3 sustainably managed properties in Northern NSW comprising 1000 acres in total
  • Earning from $31.27 per hour plus superannuation
  • Working anywhere up to 5 days per week as required
  • Assisting in the operation of a fast paced frontline commercial livestock facility managing approximately 1000 head of beef cattle with a target production of 450 calves per annum
  • Part of the Research Excellence team (NSW Department of Primary Industries)


What You’ll
Do:

  • Undertake general crop, pasture, animal and farm operations on a fast paced commercial livestock operation including:
    • Supervision of and assistance with calving and joining processes;
    • General husbandry activities such as tagging, drenching, inoculating and weighing;
    • Pasture management including mulching, sowing and fertilising;
    • General farm infrastructure maintenance including fencing, pipework and water point repair, and plant maintenance;
    • Accurate record keeping of stock, paddock, chemical and machinery usage and maintenance.


What You’ll Have:

  • Hands on experience working in a commercial or farming livestock operation
  • A current NSW Driver Licence
  • Current AQF 3 Chemical Accreditation (or equivalent)


And if you’ve got this even better:

  •  Cert III in Agriculture
