The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of quality nursing care to people attending the Albion Centre for HIV and sexual health related services. All Registered Nurses must comply and act in accordance with recognised professional and organisational standards established by:
• NSW Health,
• The NSW Nurses’ Registration Board,
• South Eastern Sydney Local Health Service,
• Planning and Population Health,
• The Albion Centre
Supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each Registered Nurse within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives.
1. Registered Nurse with current registration through the Australian Health
Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Recent clinical experience working in HIV and / or sexual health with a
demonstrated knowledge of these specialty areas.
3. Demonstrated understanding of current issues / directions in the health
provision of individuals affected by HIV / STIs and Hep C
4. Experience working in an ambulatory care or similar clinical setting.
5. Current venepuncture skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
7. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal
skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when
communicating with others.
8. A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and professional
development
