As the international design and build partner for Australia's Future Submarine Program, Naval Group Australia is playing a critical role in the delivery of a regionally superior fleet of submarines that will keep Australia's shores secure for decades to come. The project itself will span over 50 years.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Industry and Innovation in Naval Group Australia, the AIC Manager in France will provide guidance, support and input to the development, delivery and update of designated supplier AIC plans, Program activities and deliverables, and will work in close collaboration with the Naval Group transfer of capability & procurement teams in Australia.
This newly created position is responsible for managing Naval Group Australia’s engagement with suppliers seeking to participate in the Program, and will provide the industry expertise required to evaluate supplier submissions, analyse industrial content and transfer of capability readiness and requirements to meet Australian industrial development objectives. In addition, you will support and consolidate inputs to maximise Australian industry involvement and monitor and report on Australian industry capability gaps and potential risks to the Program as part of the AIC plans.
The role requires strong business leadership and excellent communication skills, with previous experience in a maritime industry or Defence acquisition program highly regarded. A strategic mindset, good attention to detail and a thorough approach in identifying and solving challenges will be an integral part to your success in this role.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a commercial relevant business environment
- Knowledge of Australian Defence industry landscape, including government policies and initiatives
- Thorough understanding of Australian Defence acquisition process (ideally maritime) and Defence department contracting methodologies
- Good knowledge of Australian industry capabilities across the Defence (maritime) domain
- Relevant professional qualifications to support your experience
- French language skills or strong desire to learn
Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship (to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance)
- Ability to relocate to France for an indefinite period
- Ability to travel both nationally and internationally as required
