You will work with a skilled team to develop ideas into well-designed and expertly executed projects. Drawing on your keen problem solving, negotiation and budgeting skills, you will play a key role in delivering projects on time and in a way that makes the most of Council’s resources. Your great communication skills and positive personality helps you to develop productive relationships with your team and stakeholders.

  • Full time permanent position (Part time options can be discussed)

You will be responsible for

  • Transforming concepts into on-ground outcomes
  • Procurement and administration of contracts
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Identifying and managing project risks

What are we looking for?

You will have experience delivering projects in building and civil construction or a related field, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.

You will also have

  • A relevant degree (i.e. engineering or building) and suitable relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and significant relevant experience
  • Extensive and broad experience in managing the planning and delivery of public assets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write reports and prepare external correspondence
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver community engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality work and customer service
  • Demonstrated skills in managing diverse workloads and meeting work and budget targets within tight deadlines, despite conflicting pressures
  • Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and other local government business applications
  • Occupational Health and Safety General Induction ticket for entry to construction sites (white card/red card)
  • Driver Licence

A transformation of Council’s headquarters in Bright is currently underway. As is the case with much of what we do at Alpine Shire Council, this project is something completely different for the local government sector. The completion of the first stage of this transformation has resulted in an inspirational space designed to promote collaboration and productivity in an activity-based working environment.
