We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial & Operations Accountant.

The Senior Financial & Operations Accountant is responsible for the end-to-end financial and management reporting function of two agencies in the Transport cluster (Sydney Ferries and the Office of Transport Safety Investigations). This includes managing the preparation of forward estimates, budget data, submissions to NSW Treasury (Prime), monthly financial reporting and bi-annual statutory financial reporting. The role will also assist with the Transport Cluster consolidation and may include reporting tasks in relation to other new entities.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with good knowledge of best practice in financial and management reporting to ensure the finance function for both agencies operates effectively in a complex and constantly changing regulatory and legislative environment.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or similar discipline and membership of a recognised professional accounting body.
• Detailed understanding of and extensive experience in the application of current statutory and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to work independently using initiative and self-direction.
• Fully developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to deal effectively with people and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
