Our Federal Government client is seeking several Data Experts for a contract starting in August 2018 up to June 2019.
  
  
We are looking for experienced data experts who have:

• strong conceptual and analytical skills;
• data scientist capabilities – that is, the ability to deliver advice and outputs operating at the interface between data analysis, data mining and efficient computational processes;
• creative problem-solving capabilities – we know there aren’t perfect solutions to every problem and being able to tackle this in a proactive way is an advantage;
• strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to translate complex statistical ideas into digestible information for non-technical audiences;
• the ability to work in a demanding operational environment and deliver high quality and timely data and analysis targeted to the needs of a broad range of stakeholders;
• understanding of the Australian labour market and associated data sources, particularly jobs, education and/or training data is an advantage.

  
Skills required :

• Data analysis and visualisation using Excel, SAS and/or R to support decision making
• Keen problem-solving ability, including the design of fit-for-purpose solutions
• Communicates clearly and influentially with team members and stakeholders
• High level of judgment, common sense and integrity
• Understand and describe data quality from a user perspective
• Works well in a team environment and responds positively to changing priorities

  
Desirables:

• Proven ability to implement machine-learning, web content scraping and/or natural language processing techniques for statistical analysis
• Metadata authoring and management
• Database development, design and management
