CASA is seeking applicants with the right qualifications, highly developed stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the aviation industry to fill the Aviation Safety Advisor role.
The role and responsibilities
As an Aviation Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for working directly with people in aviation to achieve improved safety outcomes by facilitating two-way communication, collaboration and consultation between industry and CASA.
You will provide timely and appropriate safety advice, delivering safety education and training, and receiving feedback on current industry issues to help CASA provide the most safety effective responses.
This role performs high level analysis of contemporary aviation safety issues using data originating from a wide range of sources and prepares reports and briefing papers to develop safety education and promotion material.
Successful candidate profile
- Have a sound knowledge of Australian civil aviation legislation and aeronautical procedures.
- Significant operational aeronautical experience.
- Hold or have held one or more of the following:
- Australian Commercial Pilot Licence;
- Australian CAR31 or part 66 maintenance licence; or
- ATC Licence (or military equivalent).
- Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed reports and complex correspondence.
- Ability to confidently develop and present educational material to large audiences.
