The Department of Planning & Environment is the lead NSW Government agency in planning for a growing NSW. The Department is going through an exciting period of organisational and operational change.

 
About the Role:
Working within the Cluster Corporate Services Division of the Department, this opportunity plays a pivotal role in providing business and financial advisory services to your assigned division.
 
The role of the Senior Finance Business Partner manages the development and monitoring of divisional operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts and forward estimates. Also, providing performance reporting and high-level critical analysis on financial results, divisional initiatives and projects. 
 
Essential requirements:

  • A member of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & NZ with 10+ years post qualification experience including a minimum of 5 years in a senior finance and business advisory role.
  • Success in managing and developing a business planning, performance reporting and forecasting function. Experience in providing strategic insights to senior management. Demonstrated staff management capability.
  • High levels of initiative, self-management and problem-solving capability.
  • Knowledge of the application of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, Treasurer's Directions and Australian Accounting Standards, with a broad understanding of relevant Government policies
