The City of South Perth (the City) is a unique and vibrant Western Australian municipality, located only 4kms from the Perth CBD. The City’s Infrastructure Directorate is entering a period of transformation with the introduction of three new Business Units. With these changes, the Directorate expects to create greater efficiencies, dedicated services to the community, as well as continuing to build and develop a high performing, outcome oriented, energetic and unified team.
This is an exciting new opportunity for a qualified and experienced Engineering professional to lead a multi-disciplinary team that improves the amenity value and the sustainable uses of our roads, streetscapes, public open spaces and foreshores.
The Manager Assets & Design is responsible for leading and managing the strategic and operational assets and infrastructure design services team to delivers conceptual and detailed designs for the City’s infrastructure, landscapes, environment, traffic and parking management in accordance with the City’s strategic direction.
As the Manager Assets & Design, you will provide leadership through the creation of a clear design vision for the City’s strategy, planning, and design of public realm projects in accordance with the City’s strategic direction. You will lead and coordinate the City’s strategic asset management program for all asset classes across the City.
In order to be successful in this senior position, you will need to demonstrate how you have utilised your skills and experience on a regular basis to manage teams and programs, this includes:
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of South Perth Values – we are accountable, respectful, supportive, and unified;
- A relevant degree and extensive practical experience in the relevant areas;
- High level verbal communication skills including the capacity to interact with all levels of employees and the public while maintaining effective customer service and relationship management;
- High-level skills and experience in leading and managing a team of skilled staff and consultants working on multi-disciplinary design projects; and
- A proven track record of success in the delivery of public realm projects.
This is a contract position (up to five years) and offers a remuneration package value of between $145,000 - $160,000 per annum depending on skills, qualifications and experience. The package includes a fully maintained City vehicle with private use, five weeks annual leave plus generous superannuation contributions up to 15.5%.
