INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS:

Gympie Regional Council currently has a fixed term vacacy available in the position of Officer - Technical - Construction.  The duration of the secondment is 6 months.

Remuneration: Salary range of $69,897 to $74,260 and 13 per cent superannuation

Expectations of the Position

This position provides technical services to assist in the planning and delivery of the annual construction and rehabilitation program for council’s roads and associated road assets. Key deliverables include:

  • Assist in the delivery of the annual Capital Works Program with a focus on timeliness, quality and budget
  • Implement quality assurance system procedures and documentation
  • Assist with Asset Management and maintaining the asset register database
  • Prepare project plans in liaison with Supervisors
  • Prepare Workplace Health and Safety, Environment and Traffic Management plans

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated ability to assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans
  • Highly developed computer skills including spreadsheet, GIS, Microsoft products and cost estimating software
  • Proficient typing skills with the ability generate minutes and reports
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work as a member of a team and communicate and respond effectively to a wide range of demands from different client groups, whilst maintaining good relationships.
  • Experience in Traffic Management, MUTCD Level 3

Experience in OLR and Authority would be desirable, but not mandatory.
