Department of Natural Resources Mines and Energy / Townsville and Rockhampton (Flexible Work Arrangements will be considered)

 

  • Permanent full time
  • Salary in the range of $103,154 to $110,613 per annum (plus leave loading & superannuation & oncall allowance)
  • Superannuation, flexible work arrangements

 

The main capabilities of the position are:

 

  • Technical Expertise – Displays an in depth knowledge of technology and systems relevant to their work to meet service delivery expectations, and keeps up-to-date on current research and technology in the industry and one’s own area of expertise.
  • Communication – Questions and listens in order to understand underlying motivations and construct effective responses, while adjusting presentation style to suit audience mood and prepares responses ahead of time.
  • Solutions Focussed – Solves difficult problems using rigorous logic and seeks guidance and advice if problems remain unresolved.
  • Personal Ownership – Delivers results, tasks and closure of projects on time, to budget and meeting customer expectations.
  • Integrity and Transparency – Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding when resolving differences and conflict.

 

Note: 

You will need to demonstrate at least 5 years practical experience within explosives industries.

A degree in chemistry or chemical engineering would be desirable; or

Explosives qualifications acceptable to the Chief Inspector of Explosives; and

You will be required to undergo a National Criminal History and Political Violence check
