We are seeking a Senior physiotherapist with recent acute hospital experience to fill a temporary vacancy within our Hospital in the Home team. The vacancy is for 12 weeks (13 August - 4 November 2018). Part time/job share may be considered.

Where you'll be working

The position is based at our Royal North Shore Hospital office and involves travel throughout Northern Sydney Local Health District in order to treat patients in their homes following discharge from hospital.

What you'll be doing

You will be working alongside five experienced physiotherapists as part of our multidisciplinary team. There is an emphasis on treating patients with respiratory, cardiac and orthopaedic conditions. The role includes some weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
 

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Full registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience, Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a Level 2 Physiotherapist.
  • Provide evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
  • Demonstrated proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current physiotherapy practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
