SNSW Grade 8 – The package includes base salary starting at $97,178 plus employer's contribution to/ superannuation and annual leave loading.

Primary Purpose of the Role 

The IT Business Support Analyst is responsible for maintaining data assets integrity and accuracy to enable reporting and analysis of customer service delivery insights, through managing and implementing ongoing business changes into the Data Warehouse and assessing and addressing data delivery issues.

 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and maintain end to end business as usual data processing procedures.
  • Maintain and manage changes to data assets to ensure ongoing accuracy, such as add a new agency, add a new queue, complete the assessment of a new Service Centre.
  • Reprocess ad hoc data ETLs, manage exceptions when they arise (unexpected or data not available at extraction, failure of ETLs), including identifying cause and implementing workaround and / or permanent fixes.
  • Develop, maintain and update business process documentation and knowledge articles about data / ETL processes support tasks.
  • Take a lead role in liaising with external vendors for software update, delivery and support.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • MUST be an Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen to apply for permanent roles within Service NSW.
  • Demonstrated 2 years working experience delivering data analysis, or similar decision support role.
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse design and implementation; Logical Data Model design (dimension and fact tables), data profiling, ETL processes
  • General understanding of transactional database model and database normalisation
  • Strong experience in using MS-SQL Server (2008 – 2016), including:

o   database and objects creation, modification using T-SQL via Query and SQL Server Management Studio (Tables, Stored Procedures, Functions, Indexes, etc.)o   data manipulation & transformation: querying & updating data using T-SQL including data cleansing & enrichment; and

o   import and Export data using SQL Server Integration Service, including data flow and control flow implementation, package execution & scheduling using SQL Server Agent

  • Demonstrated advanced skills using MS Excel (2013), including ability to create and use pivot tables, using formulas and functions, VBA and Macros
