This is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in providing a high standard of security and containment within Ivanhoe Correctional Centre. This role will be suited to individuals who enjoy working on a rotating roster system (24/7) where the assigned shift can vary between 3-12 hours.
A fully paid, 10 week, intensive training program is provided for those who progress through to the Academy. Successful candidates would be required to complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice in the following 12 months.
Essential requirements of the role:
- Minimum age 18 years
- Driver’s license
- Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Be available to work at short notice
- Willingness to complete further training and tertiary studies
- Safely handle a firearm
- Good communication skills and resilience
- Competent computer skills
- Able to adhere to dress code including no visible inappropriate or offensive tattoos
