Our Network SEQ business has a permanent opportunity to join the Traction Power Engineering team as a Senior Traction Power Engineer to lead the provision of expert technical support and safety advice for all stakeholders in the operation, use and maintenance of the Traction System. You will provide an asset and process audit / inspection regime that will indicate compliance (or otherwise) with Queensland Rail standards and result in an asset investment and development plan.
Lead inter/intra group work activities and minor design. This will include work approval / acceptance of construction and repair activities including providing safety advice with regard to work activities near 25/50KV Trackside Power equipment.
You will establish Trackside Systems instructions to mandate a framework for compliance including developing, implementing and maintaining a technical and safety auditing and inspections program. This will include asset and process inspections / audits, going to site to perform and / or supervise electrical testing, modifications and electrical work.
You will also investigate track and faults / incidences. This includes track recording, fault recording and maintenance scheduling information and electrical incidences.
An exciting aspect of this position is assessing the need for investment in the traction network and providing investment strategies and submissions in conjunction with the other parts of Queensland Rail.
Your well-developed mentoring strengths will be highly valued to assist in coaching engineers to maximise team performance.
This opportunity offers between $116,400 - $124,800 plus superannuation depending on experience.
To be considered for this opportunity you will have experience in all of the above, have a Bachelor of Engineering Electrical and be a registered professional engineer.
