The Opportunity


Transport for NSW is investing in new trains and ferries to provide more comfortable, reliable, efficient and accessible journeys. We have two (2) ongoing opportunities for a Risk Analyst to be a part of our Fleet Program Delivery team and within the Program Management Office (PMO) suite.  The Fleet Program Delivery team is responsible for the delivery of a number of multibillion dollar programs including:


  • New Intercity Fleet Program delivery
  • Sydney Growth Trains delivery
  • Regional Rail Program

Each position will provide analytical and general risk management support.  We are looking for a proactive and diligent individual who has the capability to explore a range of possibilities and creative alternatives to contribute to systems, process and business improvements, and has experience in building effective relationships to understand customer needs and requirements.


These positions will be deployed into the Fleet Program and, as such, have dual reporting lines to both the PMO Principal Manager Risk and Assurance, and the Fleet Project Controls Manager. Your role will be to engage with stakeholders to identify and gain a detailed understanding of risks, opportunities and issues; to analyse, record, monitor and report trends and key performance indicators; to carrying out risk reviews; to assess the of effectiveness of controls; provide advice and guidance to Project and Program management, and to continually improve risk maturity and risk practice through training and awareness. Underpinning and supporting the delivery of risk management outcomes is the Risk Management System Database (CURA) for which you will act as a system administrator and "superuser".

Essential Requirements


  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and relevant industry experience 


Desirable Experience
 
  • Experience working in complex, large scale multidisciplinary projects in transport and/or infrastructure ?related organisations, ideally with rolling stock or rail experience
  • Familiarity /experience in the use of risk databases (e.g.: CURA)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills
  • Highly analytical skillset
