The role:  
The position of Principal Technology Officer will maintain defined enterprise service levels by providing high quality technical expertise, support and administration whilst adhering to departmental standards, policies, procedures and ITSM processes. Further responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support and assistance in the clarification and prioritisation of tasks by ensuring assigned priorities are met in accordance with defined enterprise service levels
  • Assist management in the decision-making process and continuous improvement by preparing technical reports, specifications and trend analysis within the unit
  • Provide expertise to progress the installation and configuration of hardware, firmware and software as per departmental frameworks
  • Manage ICT assets by ensuring relevant information is recorded accurately.

Are you right for this role?
To be successful in the role of Principal Technology Officer, you will demonstrate:

  • Ability or the ability to quickly learn ServiceNow and ITIL Service Management processes, primarily incident/problem/test/change and configuration management.
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 (OS and Hardware)
  • PowerShell
  • Web Servers (IIS7+, Apache)
  • Citrix XenApp 7
  • System Centre Suite (Configuration Manager, Operations Manager)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS, DNS, DHCP
  • Virtualization (VMware vSphere 6.2)
  • Remote Desktop Services
  • Networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP)
  • Programming (.NET Framework, C#)
  • Technical experience in the ability to provide professional support, advice and solutions.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions.
