With the City’s recently endorsed Community Placemaking Strategy, we are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to support the creation of safe, vibrant public destinations and neighbourhoods. Where people can feel a strong sense of ownership in their communities and are committed to making things better. The key focus for this role is to make the Community Placemaking Strategy a reality.

The creation of this role is part of the City’s overall strategy of re-vitalisation where this position will work in tandem with other officers on major projects with Placemaking being part of the groundwork plan. A unique and exciting opportunity for anyone who is highly motivated to succeed in this evolving field.

The right person for this role will have previous experience in project management including the coordination and implementation of creative space and placemaking initiatives including public art, town centre revitalisation projects, urban design, heritage, environmental planning, sustainability, economics and/or social planning programs.  The ability to communicate and engage with the community and manage the competing needs of stakeholders is essential.

We would like to hear from candidates that possess or have significant progress towards a relevant qualification in Town Planning, Urban Design, Economic Development or a discipline related to Place/Precinct Management.
