Detail information about job Project Officer, Case Management System Project. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Key coordinating function in an exciting major project
  • New full time, fixed term until 30/3/2021 VPS 4 opportunity

About us

Each year the Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) and Children's Court of Victoria (ChCV) manage over 350,000 cases. The court IT systems are outdated, some of which are 30 years old, and no longer meet service expectations or handle the growing community demand. The 2017/18 State Budget provided significant investment to Court Services Victoria including $89.2m for a modern case management system for the two courts, as part of the whole of government response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence.

The Case Management System (CMS) Project aims to procure and implement a contemporary CMS for MCV and ChCV that supports the ongoing growth of cases, is a one point of entry for all cases in these two courts, and streamlines data capture, business processes and the exchange of information both within the courts and with external parties.

About the role

In this newly created opportunity, the Project Officer will play a crucial role in providing project management support and helping to grow the project controls function within the project office stream. This includes coordinating strong project control processes (including reporting, risk and issues management, dependency management), developing complex project documentation, and assisting project stream leads to develop high quality products (such as schedules, plans etc) to ensure the effective day-to-day management of the project.

The role is part of a dynamic and growing team and will offer the opportunity to be involved in a vast range of project activities that will contribute to the success of the project. You will have the opportunity to excel and grow in this role and will be a highly valued member of the team.

About you

To be successful in this exciting role, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in providing high quality project support within major projects, and will have a strong set of technical project management skills. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, necessary for building and maintaining mutually-beneficial relationships across a wide stakeholder group. Your energetic "can do" attitude and exceptional project coordination skills are also essential to securing this role.
