Department of Police / Brisbane

• Temporary full time until 30/06/2020 with a possibilty of an extension
• Salary in the range of $69,332 to $74,967 per annum excluding superannuation.

Your key accountabilities will include:

• Provide assistance in the field of covert and overt technical methodologies supporting operations undertaken to gather evidence to assist in major criminal investigations and supporting public order policing.
• Provide support and development for Information Technology based job management databases, evidence recording systems and computer networks.
• Provide oral and/or written instruction to technical and non-technical staff as required on the operation and maintenance of technical equipment.
• Actively participate in the development, design/construction and implementation of specialised electronic equipment.
• Provide advice on relevant technology and processes applicable to a policing environment, with particular emphasis on covert disciplines.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders to enhance service provision.
• Liaise with relevant outside bodies and other government agencies with a view to keeping abreast of trends in technology.
• Assist with co-ordination of contractors and external providers, where required.
• Provide expert evidence on technology related matters on behalf of the QPS in a Court of law.
• Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures and standards as they relate to the installation, maintenance, calibration and operation of electronic systems.
• Construction of technical projects including high performance soldering, PCB assembly, and hardware construction.
