This is an outstanding opportunity for a legal professional to take on a position delivering high-quality family law services to vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders. Legal Aid Queensland plays an important role in the state’s justice system, providing specialist services in child support, child protection, domestic violence, social work, dispute resolution and family law matters. Children and Young People is a specialist team that provides responsive, targeted and child-focused legal information, advice and representation, and referrals to appropriate services. The team specializes in legal service delivery and policy advocacy in child protection, as well as providing legal services in domestic violence, family law and other related matters.
As a lawyer, you will represent the interests of legally aided clients and prepare cases and advocate for children and families in child protection and related matters. You will liaise and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to improve service delivery for clients and you will also have an opportunity to contribute to policy developments and law reform issues.
A pool of applicants will be created. The pool is for PO3 and PO4 classifications, but will be dependent on experience and suitability. Classification level paid will be dependent on experience relevant to the position.
