The Position
This key executive role forms a critical part of the Executive Management Team and is responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Community Services portfolio. This position strategically manages, plans, monitors, evaluates and provides effective governance to all Community Services across the Council.
As a member of the Executive Management Team this role is jointly responsible for the delivery of; excellence every day, inspiring creativity and having an eye on the future to ensure we are as dynamic as we are diverse, ensuring that community services support the strategic direction of the organisation.
This role will focus on:
- Leading ongoing excellence in service delivery and driving key project delivery within a diverse range of quality customer focused services including:
- Community and Cultural Development
- Social Planning
- Cultural Services including our Regional - Gallery and Regional Performing Arts Centre
- Economic Development
- Destination Marketing and Tourism
- Commercial Business and Property
- Recreation Services
- Libraries
- Community Support (funded programs)
- Community Facilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of our three (3) year Delivery Program.
- Championing Councils Purpose and Values to lead a high performance culture
- Focusing on building capability and capacity in our people, systems and resources
Your success in this role will be demonstrated through your ability to; identify and instigate change and improvement, demonstrate integrity, credible leadership and positively contribute to the Executive Team by fostering a collaborative approach to teamwork and strategic decision making
