The Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney is searching for a Chief Operating Officer. The recently vacated role has a wide remit which includes: overseeing the operational planning for the Sydney Modern Project as well as finance and overall business services.
We would like to hear from leaders who can drive improvement by defining high level objectives and translating these into practice through planning and preparing for long-term change. As well as ensuring the highest standards of financial management and governance, the individual will contribute to an organisational culture that actively seeks opportunities to improve and can anticipate, plan for and address barriers to change at the organisational level.
Established in 1871 and located in Sydney, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of the most beautiful art museums in the world. The Gallery is in The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Central Business District on the lands of the Gadigal peoples of the Eora nation, and attracts around 1.3 million visitors annually.
The Gallery holds significant collections Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander, Australian and International art and presents a dynamic program of temporary exhibitions involving significant loans from Australian and international collections. As the state’s leading institution for the visual arts, the Gallery plays a vital role in the cultural and intellectual life of both Sydney and Australia.
