The opportunity 


We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to be a part of our Network Integration team within Roads and Maritime Services.


The HNV Flood Strategy Project Manager is responsible for developing and/or delivering infrastructure with the primary aim of reducing flood risk to life, property and social amenity from regional floods in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley, now and in the future.


You will work with various internal and external stakeholders to provide support and facilitate the effective delivery of projects and program initiatives, in order to deliver a sustainable infrastructure that is resilient to floods. 


You will manage your project to ensure delivery within planned budgets, timelines and scope. Your outcomes will address the sector and department priorities, policies, legislative and regulatory frameworks, professional standards, delegations and resource parameters.

The salary for this position is USS Grade 10 ($120,223 - $131,383) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.


Essential requirements


We are looking for an engineer, preferably a Civil Engineer, with extensive project management experience in managing infrastructure or other complex projects and/or programs i.e. road, bridge, maritime and/or tunnel projects; along with a sound knowledge of technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road, bridge, maritime and/or tunnel construction. Proven experience in procurement is a must, including the preparation of tender documentation, tendering procedures and/or overseeing professional and construction contractors. 


Your exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills would equip you to deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels and build strong working relationships as required in this role. In addition, strong analytical and reporting skills with a proactive and flexible approach to problem solving will surely set you up for success!
