Wyndham City is offering an excellent opportunity for a confident and motivated person to join the Consents & Permits Team within the Assets & Roads Department. Wyndham is experiencing rapid growth and the Consents & Permits area is seeking a Civil Engineer to work in this fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Area Leader Consents & Permits, the Senior Technical Officer will be responsible for:
- Assessing applications and issuing Consents for Works in the Road Reserve including vehicle crossings
- Investigating, assessing and processing utility applications for Consents for Works in accordance with the road Management Act and associated codes and regulation
- Investigating, assessing and processing Telco LAANs and Works applications in accordance with prescribed legislated timeframes
- Teamwork and a positive personal contribution to the successful operation of the Consents & Permits Unit
- The provision of effective and professional customer service to other Council officers, applicants and external stakeholders
- Provide support to the Coordinator and Area Leader as required
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering and relevant knowledge of the Road Management Act and the Telecommunications Act and Associated Codes of Practices and their requirements when processing applications for works.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings
- Experience in using a range of computer software and customer service.
- Knowledge of public lighting, build over easements, legal point of discharge will be an advantage
