The Health Professional Education (HPE) Section is responsible for developing educational resources that assist health professionals understand the Medicare Program. Our stakeholders include health professionals, practice and pharmacy staff, hospitals and specialists. We work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver information that meets their needs. Our aim is to minimise the risk to the organisation and the Australian Government, by taking a blended approach to developing education resources. 

Senior Learning Design Officers support the development of current and future activities and products to support staff and customers to build capabilities in the use of self-services. They deliver learning and support tools or methods that support the department to deliver new initiatives and continue to provide quality services and outcomes to stakeholders. They are responsible for analysing, designing, supporting implementation and evaluation of a range of learning and support products, packages and functions that assist the department's staff and customers towards its Service Delivery Operating Model. Senior Learning Design Officers may manage and support staff, set work priorities and monitoring performance and quality assurance. They work under limited direction of senior staff to make independent decisions within defined parameters impacting on their 

The Successful candidate wil have:

• Working knowledge of: Adobe Creative Cloud software, Captivate, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Animate, Illustrator, InDesign (or equivalent software) 
• Understanding of: File Transfer protocols (FTF) and associated software, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Hyper Text Mark-up Language (HTML) 

The Successful candidate will:

• Manage multiple projects relating to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of educational resources for internal and external stakeholders that include training and support products, meeting Department instructional design principles, legislation and quality standards.
• Investigate and implement a variety of learning and support methodologies and technologies in order to best meet both staff, business and customer learning needs. 
• Have high level oral and written communication skills using a variety of channels. Team members will collate content for executive staff, internal business areas and external stakeholders including medical professionals. Team members will represent and promote the department at a range of forums including conferences, meetings and seminars.
• Exercise appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
