Powerlink is seeking an experienced Senior Telecommunications Systems Designer for a fixed term, 12 months position to support the Telecommunications Systems design of Queensland’s high voltage transmission network in the ever changing energy environment.
As one of the organisations senior telecommunications design experts, the role will provide specialist technical advice and expertise in substation telecommunications design technology and systems. You will provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Telecommunications Systems Design team members, as well as undertake the lead telecommunications design role on allocated projects, mainly in the areas of multiplexing, fibre optic and voice systems, and to a lesser extent in protection signalling, microwave, mobile radio, and power line carrier.
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
- Associate Diploma in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications design
- Expert knowledge, experience and understanding of contemporary telecommunications design disciplines, systems and technology
- Demonstrated ability to manage design and project deliverables effectively to achieve tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated use of design and computer based office tools
