As an OT you are looking for a role that can offer you diversity and exposure? This position will offer you an opportunity to increase your knowledge, resourcefulness and initiative.
 
You will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary community based transitional care team providing care to patients as they make the conversion from acute services to the community. The individualised, goal oriented program is offered for a twelve week period, focussing on preventing avoidable readmissions to hospital and increasing motor skills to enable people to live at home safely.
 
Support is provided within an excellent culture in a collaborative team providing home visits and health centre clinics. Your professional abilities will be prioritised within the team with support being offered by transitional care and allied health teams across the Mehi and Peel sectors. The community health team provides service in speech therapy, social work, physiotherapy, dietetics, counselling, health promotion, sexual assault, Aboriginal and women’s health, and community nursing, featuring another OT in this team.
 
Moree is the traditional home of the Kamilaroi people with its name meaning ‘long waterhole’, ‘spring’, or ‘rising star’ indicating the link to the Great Artesian Basin that make the town popular.  Located in north-western NSW the region is touted as the most productive agricultural area in Australia producing wheat, cotton, pecans, olives and grazing pastoral lands for sheep and cattle. An active community that is very fitness focused with park runs, triathlons and a variety of modalities covered at the PCYC it is not a place to shy away from health.
 
The combination of the rich black soil and the Mediterranean style climate make it is an ideal place to base yourself with the famous artesian spas naturally heated to 41 degrees, making the area a huge drawcard for locals and tourists alike. Access to all modern conveniences for shopping, education and daily flights to Sydney make moving to Moree an easy choice.
 
Accommodation at a reasonable price can be provided in the nursing quarters on-site at the hospital, providing you with communal living areas, for the duration of the employment period. The community health team are well known for their supportive and welcoming inclusion as they undertake students on rotations on a regular basis.

 
This is a Occupational Therapist Level 3 position, however, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.
