Serco is currently looking to appoint an experienced and professional manager to join our organisation as a SME/Operation Solution Lead for the Fleet Marine Services Contract (FMSC).

 

Based at our Sydney Head Office on Garden Island, this full time 12 month contract opportunity will see you support the Contract Director in providing day to day contract administration and support to site Operations Managers to manage negotiations or with issues of contractual nature as required. You will focus on ensuring terms of contracts are adhered to and that effective communication occurs between all parties.

 

In addition, you will also have a national responsibility for all Integrated Logistics Support and IT requirements.

 

In addition to the above, you will:

 

  • Monitor the FMSC and allocated subcontracts to ensure compliance with contracts
  • Support the Operations Managers at each port to manage negotiations or contract issues
  • Manage Contract correspondence including drafting, registration and monitoring of correspondence
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the development of key payment claims
  • Implement a process to monitor and control FMSC, subcontracts and Contract Change Proposals
  • Oversee legal review, correspondence and purchasing and procurement requirements
  • Plan and manage national ILS requirements and activities
  • Interact with customers as part of acquisition and transition into service

 

To be successful in this role, you will:

 

  • Possess the ability to review and assess the implications of complex documentation
  • Demonstrate substantial experience with contract negotiation, budgeting and financial matters
  • Have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of Navy operating procedures
  • Possess previous managerial/supervisory experience within the maritime or defence industry
  • Broadly understand ILS and how it can benefit multiple divisions of an organisation
  • Communicate effectively at all levels
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Logistics (desirable)

 

Project management, bidding and tendering experience combined with tertiary qualifications in contracts, law, engineering or logistics will be highly regarded.

 

All applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance NV1.
