Your new company
This major Victorian state government is committed to the betterment of the Victorian environment and planning, through major reform it continues to be at the forefront of change for the Victorian state government. A vacancy exists now exists for a Policy Officer (VPS4) to work alongside a highly capable policy team focused on a reform program around waste resources in Victoria. The role is positioned in the organisations offices based in the Melbourne CBD.
Your new role
As Policy Officer you will start on an initial three month contract (immediate start). Your role will involve synthesising previous research and data, assessing the nature the Victorian environmental waster market and material that is collated by the department itself. Following analysis of this research you will work to support the wider policy team in its efforts to develop and enhance its policy position. The role will see you work with a highly intelligent team and a range of internal/ external stakeholders, gathering a wide range of information in order to suggest and develop new policies for the group.
What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant you will need skills in policy research, policy analysis and development. You will have experience working within government, having been involved in policy development and research. Experience or knowledge of the following is also required:
- Excellent written communication, policy analysis/ development - clearly outlined in your resume
- Data collection and analysis, research
- Environment/waste knowledge desirable, however not necessary
