The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a ITS Project Engineer to join the Technical and Project Services Division within Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). Reporting directly to the Principal Systems Analyst (SCATS) , you will be responsible for analysis of the system requirements, documenting the design specifications to be coded, development and implementation of intelligent transport system in accordance with the defined time cost, quality and scope objectives.
As the ITS Project Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that compliance to development plans is achievable by analysing functional and non-functional user requirements of traffic systems
  
• Maintaining accurate records and data by ensuring that all documentation and bug-tracking data records related to the systems are maintained to ITS Branch quality requirements.
  
• Contributing to the provision of quality software by creating software feature design specifications that enable the delivery of quality software
  

 
The ideal candidate will be able to address and resolved complex problems and issues involving the detailed analysis of alternative courses of action and the development of appropriate solutions. You will also have knowledge and experience in the development and maintenance of computer systems using C++ as well as various operating systems and databases.

Remuneration package: RMS Engineer Level 2 ($110,550 - $118,846), plus employer's contribution to superannuation
