Your new role
A contract opportunity has arisen for senior government EL1 or EL2 Strategic Policy Officer to join a vital team responsible for a new and innovative policy partnership arrangement between the States and Territories, and Federal Government. Your new role will see you be responsible for developing cabinet documents, policy options and briefing. You will be the crucial liaison points for senior stakeholders who have an invested interest in this major partnership.

What you'll need to succeed
Prior experience in federal policy and a background in the APS will be critical, as will:

• Prior experience in educational policy would be desirable
• Experience in policy development, along with strong communication and organisation skills, including an ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
• Scoping policy issues and employing high level research and analysis techniques
• The development and implementation of policy options through delivering high quality briefing and ministerial correspondence
• Engage successfully with a wide range of Industry and Government stakeholders
• have well developed written skills and have experience preparing a wide range of policy documentation in Government
• Being responsible for developing and advocating for issues significant to the organisations mandate

You must be an Australian citizen and possess or be willing to go through the process of a National Police Check.
