Our client, a Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Project Officer to assist with the management of the design, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of project outputs by managing key stakeholders to drive the implementation and integration of projects.
The ideal candidate will have extensive project experience and will be responsible for supporting the department by ensuring the consistent delivery of projects.
Role responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- With work team members to lead and deliver projects that may have an organisation-wide impact
- Develop, implement and evaluate project plans and schedules in accordance with the project management framework
- Oversee project design, governance arrangements and operational integration
- Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
- Report on project objectives and outputs for presentation to the executive, and oversee ongoing project reporting
- Lead the strategic planning for longer term project initiatives
- Provide high level strategic advice and feedback to stakeholders and the department's executive
- Oversee, review and advise on written communication including business cases, plans, reports, executive and corporate documentation
- Identify, assess, manage, escalate, report and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
Previous Government experience and or a demonstrated background in Aquatic/ Marine Science is highly desirable.
