This government department is dedicated to driving sustainable economic growth in Victoria. A vacancy now exists for a Project Officer join a highly successful and fast paced team to assist in the planning and tracking of a new policy initiative.
Your new role
As a Project Officer you will be critical in providing structured forward planning and systems to support the delivery of the new project, as well as carry out administrative duties to support the project lead. As such your focus will be to strengthen project tracking, team planning and business processes, developing documentation and put systems in place to increase staff capacity in a number of activities. You will be working on project reports, issues registers, and recording crucial senior management meetings.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in a Project Officer capacity preferably within a state government department and/or public sector setting is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated project management skills.
- Experience using MSProject and creating/tracking project schedules/success
- Strong written skills and experience in writing issues registers and internal communication documents/briefs
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to deal with executive level entities
