The role sits within the Unsolicited Communications and Numbering Branch. The branch achieves good and prevents harm in relation to spam, telemarketing and telephone numbering for Australians. It is responsible for important communications safeguards and systems, including the Do Not Call Register (DNCR) and the Numbering System.The Industry Services and Numbering Section has carriage of contract management, including recovery of the costs for providing the DNCR and numbering services to industry. In addition, the team administers the regulatory regimes for the DNCR, telephone numbering and the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND).
