Here is your opportunity to join a fun, hardworking, and dedicated team of horticulturists at the award winning, and innovative Australian Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Cranbourne Gardens.
There are currently a number of vacancies for Horticulturist positions based at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria - Cranbourne Gardens.
- 2 x Full Time Ongoing Roles
- 1 x Full Time Fixed Term (to 3 May 2019)
Plant collections are the essential and defining feature which distinguishes botanic gardens from public parks, highlighting their role as valuable horticultural, scientific, and cultural institutions. If you want to make a contribution to an establishing botanic garden, increase your knowledge of horticulture, grow native plants and contribute to plant conservation (and have a good time doing it!), then we would love to hear from you.
In this varied and interesting role you will:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of living collections plans
- Perform a range of horticultural tasks associated with the cultivation and maintenance of a diverse range of Australian plants
- Contribute to the conservation of Australian native plants
- Apply sustainability principles using effective soil and irrigation management
- Apply integrated pest management principles
- Maintain timely and accurate horticultural records
