The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker or Speech Pathologist - Consultant (Director of Clinical Governance and Innovation) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH)where the focus of our 9000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region.

You will take responsibility for

  • Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area
  • Provide strategic direction for research and providing expert advice and supervision which ensures service delivery, is aligned to business goals and relevant corporate, national and state-wide plans, legislation and contemporary evidence based Mental Health Service delivery
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director/s and Divisional Executive to build individual and service capacity to address priority mental health, drug and alcohol issues through research and innovative models of service delivery
  • Provide strategic direction for suicide prevention within MHSS by implementing strategies and providing expert advice and supervision which ensures service delivery is aligned to business goals, relevant corporate, national and state-wide plans, legislation and contemporary evidence based Mental Health Service
  • Provide strategic direction to ensure alignment with district planning, national and state-wide priorities, relevant legislation, policies, plans and standards necessary to deliver a contemporary Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Service

Requirements for the role

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or one of the following boards below.  Certified copies of relevant qualification and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties
  • Postgraduate qualifications in the relevant professional field or health services management would be well regarded
  • Previous experience in the field of drug, alcohol and mental health services would be well regarded

Salary information

  • Permanent full time position
  • Base salary ranging from $131 365 - $135 983 per annum
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
