About QIMR Berghofer:

About the team:
Genome Informatics specializes in analysis of next-generation sequencing data, particularly whole genome sequencing of cancer samples.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
- Develop, test, validate, document and deploy genomics analysis applications
- Support, maintain and extend existing codebase
- Develop, test, validate, document and deploy workflows using the Workflow Definition Language (WDL)
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Interact with collaborators and co-investigators
About you:
To be successful in this role you will hold a degree in computer science, computational biology or relevant field; or have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. You will also have experience in Java/JVM languages; Multithreading; Scripting and Linux; Agile methodologies (TDD, CI/CD); and VCS (ideally GIT).
It is desirable that you have experience in Grid/Cluster computing, AWS exposure, CWL experience, analysis of next generation sequencing data, familiarity with QMS software and creating SOPs.
