The opportunity
We have an interesting position for a Project/Contract Manager to join Sydney Division team within Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). This position will be working closely with internal and external partners, such as service providers, ITS maintenance contracts and electrical industry collaborators.

The Project/Contract Manager will provide leadership, high level advice in the management, development, coordination and delivery of Intelligent Transport Systems and projects. This role aims to implement Roads and Maritime’s strategies, procedures and guidelines to ensure projects are completed to agreed time, within budget and scope requirements as well as compliance with Government and Roads and Maritime objectives.

To be successful in this role, you hold a relevant engineering degree from an Australian university or equivalent overseas qualification preferably with an electrical discipline. You also have excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, a high level of integrity and discretion, ability to work with minimal direction and within a team environment. It is essential that you have the ability to liaise effectively and seamlessly with senior management, internal and external stakeholders.

Remuneration package: RMS Engineer Level 3 ($121,844 - $133,155), plus employer's contribution to superannuation

Essential requirements

  • A relevant engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification preferably with an electrical discipline
  • Broad experience in either project development and/or implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems or maintenance projects.
  • Proven experience in the delivery and management of Intelligent Transport Systems related projects and in the implementation of community/stakeholder involvement strategies.
  • Broad experience in the preparation of tender documentation, tendering procedures and/or overseeing professional service and maintenance and/or construction contractors.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of Quality Assurance systems and WHS (workplace health and safety), risk and environmental management strategies.
