What you'll be doing

To provide expert clinical advice and support to nursing staff, other health professionals and patients after hours across wards and units within the facility/service.
 
The Clinical Resource Nurse provides clinical assistance to staff and through demonstrated practice and coaching enables the development of skills and knowledge particularly amongst novice and advanced beginner nurses and other health professionals as necessary.
 
The Clinical Resource Nurse works closely with the After Hours Nurse Manager in supporting the delivery of clinical care and addressing identified clinical care issues.
 
Provides high quality nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation using best practice principles and within the clinical resource nurse scope of practice.
 
All nursing care will be undertaken as part of a collaborative partnership with patients, families, the multidisciplinary team and other key partners.
 
Role requires weekend hours of 9am to 5.30pm with some flexibility considered where reqiuired. Job Share will be considered for this role.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Registered nurse with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Post graduate qualification related to acute specialty practice.
  3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post graduate qualification.
  4. Demonstrated problem solving skills and abilities.
  5. Ability to multi task and prioritise workload.
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Sound knowledge of equipment used in the acute environment.
  8. Demonstrated ability to support the growth and development of clinical skills and capabilities in colleagues through clinical support, coaching and teaching.
