Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is one of Melbourne's most beautiful and historic landmarks. Founded in 1846, it extends across 36 hectares and is home to garden beds, trees, lakes, lawns and historic buildings. It displays around 50,000 individual plants, representing over 8,000 different species. In addition to our Melbourne Garden, RBGV has its unique Australian Garden situated in Cranbourne which provides a natural environment for fauna and flora.
In this varied role you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Senior Finance Advisor in the management of the Garden's accounting operations and ensuring the practices and procedures are consistent with Government and Australian Accounting Standard requirements.
You will have experience in processing financial transactions, a sound understanding of relevant legislation and knowledge of accrual accounting and taxation principles, along with a ‘can-do' approach. You will also have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels within the organisation and be highly organised.
