Maitland City Council offers its employees a happy and safe working environment, where employees are encouraged to work as a part of a team and have fun whilst doing so! With 2 pool locations, including 1 that now operates year-round, Maitland’s pool facilities are state of the art.

About the role:

As one of our Program Instructors, you will work at our pools, teaching groups of children aged 6 months through to 14 years how to swim, or how to improve upon their current swimming ability. On occasion, you will also run private lessons and adult learn to swim classes. Another important part of the role will be providing your students with essential knowledge about water safety.

About you:

To be a Program Instructor with Maitland City Council, you will be required to hold a current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate, and a current CPR certificate. You will have experience working with children in an aquatic environment, or equivalent environment (e.g. teaching, childcare). You will also have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Salary and hours:

The salary for the role is $26.4936 per hour, plus a 25% casual loading, plus weekend penalty rates if you work on a Saturday or Sunday. We are looking for casuals to work at our aquatics centres which are open 7 days a week. We need people to work across weekends and weekdays across both long and short shifts.
