An exciting opportunity exists to join the dynamic nursing team on the oncology ward.

Where you'll be working
Ward 8F is a 30 bed predominantly oncology unit. We provide holistic care, support and education for patients and their families, through all stages of their cancer diagnosis. You will be caring for acutely unwell cancer patients requiring symptom management, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Oncology nursing is diverse, requiring a good understanding of all body systems and assessment skills. You will be supported by the NUM, CNCs, CNE, nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team. There are online and formal learning pathways to support and continue your education.

What you'll be doing
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.


Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current experience in an acute hospital environment.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
  • A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
  • Current experience in an acute hospital environment.
