We are seeking an experienced rates officer to provide efficient administration of the city's rating and property information functions.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintenance of the property and rating database
- Administration of Councils external agency payments
- Attending to customer enquiry for rating information
- Maintenance of local government electoral roll
- Processing of Pensioner/Senior rebate applications
- Processing of Interim Rates Notices
- Recovery of outstanding rates
The successful candidate will meet the following selection criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking rating activities.
- A comprehensive working knowledge of computerised property databases
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995, Rates and Charges (Rebates and Deferments) Act 1992 and Valuation of Land Act 1978
This position is full time and will be offered as a fixed term contract to 30 April 2019.
Salary range: $65,000 to $72,000 + superannuation + one rostered day off per month + 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata).
