We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information. We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities. We also own and operate the largest surface and groundwater monitoring network in the southern hemisphere and build, maintain and operate essential infrastructure.
We are looking for 2 Apprentice Maintenance Officers, one based in Wyangala and one to join the team at Warragamba Dam. This role will be responsible for delivering day to day maintenance and service activities on-site. You will undertake dam surveillance, water quality sampling and on-site water delivery operations on water storage and distribution assets.
We will need you to be flexible as you will be required to be based at a different site for a set time frame in your second and third years.
We are looking for someone with:
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Ability to work as a team member and independently as required
- Keen interest to develop skills and experience within WaterNSW
- Dedicated and motivated individual
Apprentices with WaterNSW will receive:
- Paid time to attend training
- Training course fees covered by WaterNSW

- Recognised trade certificate at successful completion
- Full uniform provided during employment
- Access to WaterNSW vehicles for travel requirements including to training
- 9 day working fortnight
The apprenticeship program will result in a primary trade as either an:
- Electrician (general)
- Fitter (general)
