Karratha is one of the largest and fastest growing towns in the north of Western Australia and is the heart of the West Pilbara coast. Its location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Millstream-Chichester National Park, Karijini National Park, Murujuga National Park, Dampier Archipelago, Point Samson and the Montebello Islands.

The Senior Ranger (Marine) undertakes and leads annual works programs and day to day operations within departmental marine conservation reserves, coastal and island reserves in the Pilbara Region.

The duties include the delivery of programs for parks and visitor services and conservation, including visitor risk management, mitigation works and assisting with the implementation of the Montebello/Barrow Islands Marine Conservation Reserves Management Plan.

The Senior Ranger (Marine) undertakes compliance patrols, maintains and skippers departmental vessels and equipment and assist with developing and delivering education and interpretive works programs.

In accordance with relevant legislation and departmental policy, the successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check and a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
