The role contributes to the ongoing development of corporate geodetic systems, the maintenance and continual review of geodetic information held in corporate databases and data archives, and scientific geodetic data processing and analysis using techniques such as high-precision GNSS. It contributes to maintaining the Survey Marks Enquiry Service (SMES) system, which includes the Sketch Plan, mark photograph and mark status submission and approval process; regression and user-acceptance testing of SMES releases; and providing application support. The position will require Campaign and Jurisdictional adjustments in SMES, following acceptance of data quality from the Field Survey group. It also utilises custom queries and scripts for data analysis and maintenance of the data stored in corporate databases such as SMES.

The successful applicant will possess demonstrable skills in programming and scripting (e.g. C++, Java, Perl, Python, Javascript, etc.), database and SQL technologies, and business requirements analysis and communication, as well as Specialist expertise in GNSS analysis, reference frame geodesy, coordinate transformations and conversions, survey measurement and uncertainty.
The candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree or higher in Geomatics, Surveying, Geodesy or equivalent.
A dual Geomatics/IT qualification would be extremely advantageous.
