The City of Busselton is one of the fastest growing Local Governments in the State, offering a progressive and supportive work environment, and an unparalleled lifestyle in picturesque South West WA. We are currently seeking a suitably qualified individual to join our Governance Services team. 

As Governance Coordinator you will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing strategies, systems and processes that maintain and promote good Council and corporate governance.  This includes the coordination of policy reviews, oversight of delegations, authorisations and statutory returns, plus the provision of advice and support to Elected Members and staff in relation to compliance with the Local Government Act 1995.

To be considered for this role, your application must include a statement addressing the below essential selection criteria:

• Experience working in a governance related function, ideally within Local Government.
• Broad experience of policy development and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated involvement in decision making processes and meeting procedures.
• A high level of analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to research issues and provide sound advice.
• Ability to produce high quality written reports, briefing papers and policies.

A strong knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and associated Regulations would be highly regarded.

The successful applicant must also hold a current “C” class driver’s licence.
